Lisa Colgan, DVM

Dr. Lisa Colgan is an accomplished general practitioner who has been a presence at NRAH since 2015.  She has been our primary veterinarian and chief of staff since 2021. Lisa grew up in Sunapee, NH, received her bachelors of animal science at The University of New Hampshire and her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University. After receiving her doctorate, she spent 15 years practicing in Boston's North Shore area. In addition to her experience with small animal medicine, she has been lucky enough to donate quite a bit of time to DEW Haven, a Maine zoo and sanctuary.

Dr. Lisa enjoys the broad spectrum of medicine that comes with being a general practitioner. Her favorite aspects include general surgery, dental procedures (oral surgery), pain management, and palliative care. She also has an interest in Eastern Medicine, having graduated from the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine’s veterinary acupuncture class in 2016.  Lisa earned her certification in 2017. 

In true veterinarian fashion, Lisa's house is filled with all manner of furry, finned and feathered friends (as well as her 2 legged husband, Quinn).  In her free time, you might see her running around the Upper Valley with her running friends and dogs, or hiking the local trails.  She spends many weekends traveling around New England, enjoying time with her friends and family and in search of her favorite music.
